BHM3290 Wt. 160.37, By Allan Wyon Golden Jubilee issue. Obv: Crowned and veiled and draped bust of Victoria. Rev: Intricately engraved reverse depicting Victoria enthroned surrounded by allegorical figures. A superbly detailed engraved reverse by Wyon, the gothic touches along with the heraldry make this a true work of art. Allan Wyon was appointed as he official engraver of royal seals in 1884 and held this post until 1901. He also participated in the Wyon family business engraving a number of medals along with his brother Joseph until his death in 1907. Some light scattered contact marks. Nice even dark chocolate patina. UNC
