The primary emphasis is on British Coins from Celtic to Modern Issues as well as Commemorative Medals from the 17th to the 20th century. Both of these categories feature many rarities and provenanced pieces that have been off the market for the past forty years. We also have for sale a more limited offering of Roman, U.S. and World Coins. Still being added to this website are new and used numismatic reference books, including a rare set of pipe rolls, auction catalogues and paraphernalia such as coin cabinets. Also being added is a selection of stamps. Inventory is categorized and accessed in the SHOP pull down menu located at the top of each website page. All pricing includes shipping and insurance.

Many British coins are provenanced to early collections and hoards or to auctions from the 70s, 80s and 90s. A number of unique or nearly unique pieces are listed, as well as some of the highest graded by PCGS and NGC.
Commemorative Medals
We have a nice selection of British Commemorative Medals from the 17th to the 20th century. Some are graded by NGC, many are pristine, possess exceptional eye appeal and rest in their original case of issue.

An inventory Built Over Five Decades
Abbeygate Coins was started in 1975 when I was stationed with the US Air Force in East Anglia, England. The experience of living among two thousand years of coinage history reignited my passion for numismatics. Over the years, as a small private dealer, I have had the privilege to supplement or build a number of fine British collections, handling some of the rarest and most desired coins and commemorative medals in the English series.
