Thomas Erskine, 1794, AR44
BHM0376 35.39gr Obv: cojoined busts of Erskine and Vicary Gibbs. Rev: Justice supporting the swooning figure of liberty. A spectacular medal and extremely rare. In the last 25 years I have seen two other examples in silver and neither of them came close to this beauty. Mirrored fields flashing multicolored toning, highlighting frosted devices. Completely mark free, no rubs, very likely the finest known. Ex Baldwin sale Oct 2 2006, lot 1293 FDC
