MI695/93  3.31gr.  Obv: Bust of Mary facing right hair tied back in knot. “MARIA II DEI GRA” Rev: Rose branch with a single large bloom.  “EX CANDORE DECUS” (Its beauty derives from its splendor).  A few lite random marks well disguised by lovely rose, cobalt and gold toning over prooflike fields. The finest of the few examples I have seen in the past 50 years. An undated tribute medal issued in 1689 upon the accession of Mary and her husband William of Orange to the British throne. At one time considered as a possible pattern for a farthing. as some were also struck in copper.  Rare in silver. Ex Coin Galleries Sale November 1987 lot 1159.   MS63-64
