Charles II, 1669/4, Half Crown, Ext rare in grade.
S3365/BULL452 Very rare (R3), Vincesimo primo edge. Considered an R6 (less than 10 pieces known) in VF or higher grade. Some striking weakness in center of coin as usual due to the high relief of the king’s hair. Faint trace of lustre in the reverse devices. A date that rarely comes up for sale and is unknown in high grade. Not a single other example has been graded by either PCGS or NGC as they are always found with considerable wear. Still one of the best examples available, possessing a pleasant eye appeal with even grey tone; lacking the pitting, haymarks and heavy dings and edge bumps which normally accompany this issue. Catalogues for $1300 in VF. Ex Ponterio Auction 8 October 1994, lot 1106 NGC XF 40
