S1151 wt 1.47gr Long cross type, moneyer WYNSIGE, Exeter mint. An eye-catching example sharply struck with flashes of lustre penetrating a dark grey and cobalt patina. Peck mark on reverse. Looking at two NGC graded MS63s that recently sold at auction for over $1300, I can state that this coin is decidedly superior, however, the single peck mark on the reverse would guarantee that it would receive an “UNC details” grade from NGC.  A really GEM UNCIRCULATED coin exhibiting on its reverse a Viking mark of authenticity.  Bought from Seabys 9/25 1978 NGC “UNC details peck marked”.
